Vanoc, the official organizers of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, have an online ticketing site that lets you buy tickets three ways: by searching for un-purchased tickets, using the Fan-to-Fan Marketplace and bidding in weekly Vancouver 2010 Ticket Auctions.

2. Finding Last-Minute Accommodation

Finding last-minute accommodations in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics can be done, but it will cost you. Try this list of resources, but be prepared to get creative or stay much farther away if the prices downtown are too hefty for you.

5. Free Olympic & Paralympic Events & Celebrations

All of Vancouver will be celebrating the 2010 Winter Olympics, which means there will be free events, shows, and performances, plus lots of places to watch the Games on gigantic HD screens with hundreds of fellow fans.

 

 

6. Free Nightly Medal Ceremonies at Whistler Medals Plaza

Tickets to the Olympic and Paralympic sporting events can be expensive and hard to come by. But the nightly Paralympic Victory Ceremonies at Whistler Medals Plaza are FREE and open to the first 5,000 spectators. Headlining performers include Kathleen Edwards, the Weakerthans, Antoine Gratton, and Serena Ryder.

10. Buying Olympic & Paralympic Memorabilia

There will be Olympic and Paralympic memorabilia all over Vancouver, but the two biggest, official venues for buying everything from collectibles to replica Canadian team jerseys are Vanoc's online Olympic Store and the department store chain Hudson Bay Company (The Bay). There are several Bay department stores throughout Vancouver, including one in downtown Vancouver next to the famous Robson Street shopping and the Pacific Centre Mall.
