Kitsilano's West 4th Avenue, stretching from Burrard to Balsam, is one of Vancouver's great urban shopping streets. Representative of the neighbourhood surrounding it, W 4th is sporty, affluent, novel, and trendy all at the same time.

What You'll Find

Active wear for yoga, exercise, and outdoor sports, maternity clothes, baby gifts, and novelties.

Where to Shop

Lululemon, Vancouver’s famous yoga-wear chain, opened its first store in Kitsilano. Today’s W 4th Avenue reflects that success with a large selection of active and fitness wear, including Karma and Lotuswear for yoga, the North Face for outdoors, and Ironhead “tough threads” for men, women and kids.

You can get the gear to go with your new active wear, too, at Dizzy Cycles bike shop or Pacific Boarder’s snowboards, skateboards, and surfboards store.

W 4th Ave also has several boutique maternity and baby stores, like the high-end Crocodile and Hip Baby, making it a great place to shop for baby showers and baby gifts.

For women’s clothing and shoe stores, there are Liquid, Spank and Spank Shoes.

What Not to Miss

The best parts of W 4th Avenue are the unique novelty shops, like the expansive Comicshop, where you can get your geek on and indulge in comics, TV show memorabilia, action figures, and posters. Right next door is Candy Aisle, a kid’s dream of a candy store, with a truly extensive collection of Pez dispensers.
