Guide Review - Glowbal Grill & Satay Bar / AFTERglow
If Yaletown is the height of trendy, desirable urban living in Vancouver--which by many measures it is--then Glowbal Grill & Satay Bar is as much a reflection of it's location as it is the epitome of the Yaletown aesthetic: modern, luxe, minimalist, with a menu that's a mix of Asian and Pacific Northwest inspirations.
Well known for its delicious seafood, Glowbal is a fabulous place to brunch--especially on the patio on a beautiful day--or to grab appetizers and drinks at night. The dinner menu can be expensive, but a sampler of Satay Bar items is only $24, or you can pick and choose individual items that are just $2 - $3 each.
Populated by both the already-celebrated (Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame allegedly loves their Kobe meatballs) and the dying-to-be-discovered alike--as well as the usual upwardly-mobile Yaletown after-work crowd--both the restaurant and the AFTERglow lounge (an attached room separated from the main dining area) are weekend hot spots for downtown nightlife.
