The Bottom Line

Cafe Crepe is a casual eatery serving savory and sweet crepes, baguette sandwiches and grilled paninis.

With four locations around Vancouver, it's an easy spot to grab a bite while shopping on Robson or South Granville.

Guide Review - Cafe Crepe

Cafe Crepe is a successful chain in Vancouver for (I'm guessing) two reasons: great locations and--when made fresh--reasonably decent crepes.

When it comes to grabbing food that's fast, but not fast food, while shopping or walking along Robson St., Granville St. downtown, or South Granville, Cafe Crepe is a good, inexpensive option.

Most menu choices--from the grilled paninis to the baguette sandwiches to the crepes--range from $6 - $7. The crepes are made to order with a wide variety of fillings, both sweet (Nutella and banana is my favourite) and savory, including spinach and feta, chicken or smoked beef.

Generally speaking, the food is OK, not great. It will satisfy your hunger, and with a walk-up window for easy take-away, it's a convenient way to grab a bite without slowing down. (There is seating, too, if you prefer.)

For reasons I can never quite understand, Cafe Crepe is inevitably out of at least one--usually more than one--menu item. On one visit to their South Granville location, they were out of pretty much all of their paninis. Last time I went, they were out of the soup.
