Stanley Park Rose Garden
The Stanley Park Rose Garden is part of a larger, landscaped garden of perennials, annuals and bulbs that slope down the causeway to the Stanley Park Pavilion. There are 3,500 plants on display at the Rose Garden, best enjoyed during the peak bloom times of June - October and late-March - April.
The Rose Garden is just off Pipeline Road, near the park's main, W Georgia St. entrance. On the map below, it is labeled #8.
The Ted & Mary Greig Rhododendron Garden
When in bloom, Stanley Park's Ted & Mary Greig Rhododendron Garden is a sight to behold: 4,500 hybrid rhododendrons and azaleas, necklaced around the golf course amid magnolias and towering evergreens. Though the peak bloom time for walking in the garden is the first two weeks of May, the hybridization of these lovely flowers means that something is always in bloom from March - September.
The Rhododendron Garden is located off Lagoon Drive; from downtown, Lagoon Drive is accessible fromm Haro St. in the West End. On the map below, the garden is labeled #36.
Carpet Bedding at Prospect Point
Carpet bedding is the technique of creating a picture or phrase using flowers and plants, and every year Stanley Park uses its own nursery stock to create a carpet bed from suggestions made by the public.
The carpet bed is on display at Prospect Point, the highest point in Stanley Park.
