The 8th annual Winterruption Festival on Granville Island is an all-ages arts and food festival that includes theatre, live music, food, and local and international arts. It's a mix of free and ticketed events, and this year's event is bigger than ever!
Highlights of Winterruption Festival 2013 include:
- Food - There are lots of fabulous foodie events at this year's Winterruption, including the after-hours Street Eats & Beats Under the Bridge, the popular Granville Island Market Tour, and a Sustainable Seafood Walking Tour. There's also a brand-new, original Winterruption Donut (from Lee's Donuts in the Public Market) to try.
- Arts - Winterruption hosts multiple art exhibits, workshops and studio tours, including [ART]ifacts: The Granville Island Story and Circle Craft Student Scholarships Exhibition.
- Performances - Theatre performances and workshops include Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat, the 5th Annual Juste Pour Rire in Vancouver, and The Mechanics and Material of Theatre Magic.
- Kids Activities - Winterruption has lots of fun for kids (including very young kids), including Arts Umbrella workshops, a Winterruption Mardi Gras Procession, Mortal Coil Performance Society's Chix on Stix, and a Parent & Tot Gym with Winterruption Castle.
