Vancouver Chinese New Year festivities get an early start this weekend with the popular cultural-fusion Gung Haggis Fat Choy Robbie Burns Chinese New Year Dinner.

    Part of the Dine Out Vancouver Festival, this free-admission street food festival outside the Vancouver Art Gallery (North Plaza) has street-food carts galore, heated areas for dining outdoors, and live music. Runs through Sunday, January 27.

    One of the most famous cultural fusion events in Vancouver, this dinner-and-more at Chinatown's Floata Restaurant honours both Scottish-Canadian and Chinese-Canadian heritage. Happens Sunday, January 27.
