Anyone with a kid in Vancouver (or anyone with a pulse, really) knows that gluten-free diets are becoming more and more popular. (It seems like every bakery on Commercial Drive now has gluten-free cupcakes and brownies.) While people with celiac disease must be gluten-free, an increasing number of people are choosing to eat gluten-free for personal and lifestyle reasons. Which is a good thing: The mainstreaming of gluten-free dining means more options for people who do have celiac disease.
This Sunday, January 13, you can learn more about gluten-free diets while sampling a wide range of gluten-free goods at Vancouver's second-annual Gluten-Free Expo, at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The event features over 100 exhibitors--and a chance to try their products--as well as main-stage presentations on gluten-free cooking and a free re-usable shopping gift bag (for the first 2,000 attendees).
Tickets are $12 per person. The Vancouver Gluten-Free Expo runs 10am - 5pm on January 13, 2013.
