Vancouver Vids on YouTube

Wednesday April 29, 2009

I was recently in touch with Greg Crosby, a Vancouver blogger and video maker, who's made several awesome--and very charming--vids of Vancouver. His helmet-cam video of the 2009 Sun Run was even featured on Global News.

My favourite is Vancouver Seawall Cycling, in which Crosby bikes the Stanley Park Seawall and films his adventure with a helmet cam. The music is great, and you really feel like you're there, biking with him.

You can see all of Crosby's Vancouver videos on his YouTube Channel. His blog is here.

Poking around on YouTube for more Vancouver vids, I came across an epic time-waster (in a good way): the Vancouver Film School's Channel.

With over 400 videos/mini films available, you can spend endless hours marveling at the VFS students' talent and creativity. I especially loved The Switch by Zack Mathew and Fish Wish by Josephine Gutianjo, two animated tales that could be from Pixar, they're that good.

In the cute-but-way-less-artistic category, I also came across this: Otters Holding Hands at the Vancouver Aquarium

Just in case you could use a sugar fix.

please- your blog and your choice of videos is an embarrassment even to “uneducated eyes”- you dont help vancouver when you post this drivel on your blog that google actually searches out. its a good thing i searched youtube directly and found real gems (like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPdFTWsYR5k ). Clearly you cannot differentiate gems from pebbles in the eye-sands of your mediocrity. sorry.
