Snow, Slush & Possible Flooding - Oh My!
I always feel bad when I see parking-violators towed, but I hope the poor folks being towed from Hemlock and 16th today (pictured) get a discount or something for the fact that they probably couldn't leave; there have been cars parked in 2-hour parking spots so long they have six-plus centimetres of snow on them and would need to be seriously dug out....
This is the worst winter weather I've seen in this region, and I've lived here for over 20 years. Yeah, there was the snow storm in 1996, but that didn't last as long as this one. The city is over budget trying to keep up with street clearing (and now drain clearing, since torrential rains are expected), and still most residential roads and side streets are virtually un-drivable.
How are you handling the snow? We've had to skip going to our usual big grocery store; we can make it there on the main streets, but we were lucky to get into our parking place and are too afraid to leave it....Parking is impossible! At least our local grocer is doing a good business.
