Bizarre Bazaar, Bright Nights & More - Weekend Picks

Friday November 28, 2008

You know the holidays are coming when the light shows and carriage rides start! First up--and debuting this weekend, November 28 - 30, are Stanley Park's Bright Nights (pictured) and Christmas in Kerrisdale.

  • Bizarre Bazaar
Whistler’s Original Artisan Market features over 100 BC artisans and attracted over 5,000 visitors in 2007! A great place to kick off your holiday shopping, the Bazaar has ceramics, clothing, fine art, wood, glass, metal, jewelry, and Christmas decorations, and runs Friday, November 28 - Saturday, November 29.

  • Bright Nights at Stanley Park
Saturday, November 28 kicks off Stanley Park's Bright Nights, where over a million twinkly lights transform the forest into a winter wonderland. Runs through January 3.

  • South Vancouver Neighbourhood House Winter Festival
Celebrate the season with this community event on Saturday, November 29. Bring the whole family, with bingo, raffle baskets, silent auction, Marias preserves and gift baskets, storytelling for preschoolers, and children's activities. At South Vancouver Neighbourhood House.

  • Christmas in Kerrisdale
Saturday, November 29 is the first Saturday for this Vancouver tradition. Every Saturday through December 20, Kerrisdale’s shopping district gets in the Christmas spirit, with Christmas decorations galore, free horse & carriage rides, roving quartets, and visits from Santa and his elf.
