Festivals & Fairs in Chinatown, West End, Marpole & Kits - Weekend Picks

Celebrate community and diversity with the neighbourhood festivals this weekend, August 8 - 10.

  • 9th Annual Vancouver Chinatown Festival
    Chinatown celebrates multiculturalism with this two-day festival August 9 - 10 that includes a Green Theme Exhibition, a Youth Talent Showdown, a Chinatown Heritage and Food Tasting Walking Tour, Chinese Folk Art demonstrations, multicultural stage performers, an open-air market and children's activities. There's also a 2008 Olympic & Paralympic Games Celebration for the start of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Bejing.

  • West End Summer Block Party
    Gordon Neighbourhood House holds its 10th annual West End Summer Block Party with live street entertainment, a children’s carnival with games and prizes, face painting and tattoo booths, and more, on Saturday, August 9.

  • Marpole Place's Annual Community BBQ
    Taking place Saturday, August 9 at Marpole Place, Marpole’s annual Community BBQ has fun for the whole family, with face painting, games for the kids, and Big Band and Swing music.

  • Kitsilano Community Centre's Annual Community Fair - Picnic in the Park
    Another neighbourhood celebrates on Saturday, August 9: Kitsilano's annual community Old Fashioned Fair includes carnival rides and games, live entertainment, a bouncy castle, life-size checkers and jenga, potato-sack races and relays, face painting and henna art.
