Get Ready to Party - June's Multicultural Festivals

Vancouverites have tons of activities to choose from this June, including four huge multicultural festivals, complete with music, shows, street parties are more. So mark your calendars and get ready to party with the whole family at these fabulous Vancouver events.

  • Greek Heritage Month
    The Greek Heritage Month festivities start with a Kick-off party June 1 and climax June 22 with West Broadway's "Greek Day" street party. In between, there are Greek films, Greek plays, and a "Greek Town" sidewalk sale June 21.

  • Portuguese Heritage Month
    This month-long festival celebrates all Portuguese-speaking cultures and heritages with events all over Greater Vancouver, including Brazilian music performances, a Portuguese Cultural Festival (June 7 - 9), a "Portuguese Pioneers" Walking Tour of Gastown, film festivals and much more.

  • 2008 Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival
    The 20th annual Dragon Boat Festival is a multicultural event designed to bring Vancouverites together for fun, food, boat racing, music and more. Over 90,000 attendees are expected, as well as over 180 dragon boat teams from around the world. The Dragon Boat Regatta is June 7 - 8; the big Festival--complete with live world music at Concord Place--is June 21 - 22.

  • Francophone Summer Festival
    Running from June 12 - 24, this annual festival celebrates its 19th year with music performances, Children’s Fest, outdoor concerts and "La Grande Rencontre," a huge multi-media show on June 13.
